oh here are the english muffins

I decided to have a baking day yesterday. I am trying to come up with new things for farmers market mostly because i get bored with the same old same old. So english muffins it is.. I thought I took pictures of all steps, but hmm.. could not find them. This blog is beginning to show a pattern of me, unorganzied, scatterbrained slugabug.

bread ~ where are the english muffins??

i just love my pictures ~ why oh why would i not take that mushed up recipe out of the way at least??????????????????????????????????

I guess my picture taking is like my cooking just too agressive. (tammy will understand this)

explanations

Years ago when Levi was young, I decided that it would be fun to float boats down Stevens Brook at the lower village cemetary. It rushes during spring vacation and I thought how fun would that be. I used to go down there for picnics with Travis when I was young and thought Levi would enjoy it, Sandy and Jordan would come along and eventually it became a tradition, like so many things do. I love stevens brook & the cemetary. I love to walk around and look at the grave stones and talk about the people who lived in New Gloucester, see the names and what people said about them, usually in a quick qoute. I hope my kids do not think its morbid... It really isnt, they are beautiful words and stones. I hope that my children will continue the tradition of stevens brook with their own children. I LOVE TRADITIONS.

my lists

my lists never have a priority rating, they are selected in random order

SPRING!

THINGS I LOVE ABOUT SPRING
FLOWERS
MAPLE SYRUP
BIRDS
ICE CREAM DUGOUT
MANNY'S HOME RUNS
GREEN GRASS
MUDDY ROADS( sadly those are going away in my town)
PORTLAND SEADOGS
BEER & BASEBALL ( i like this in summer and fall also) october is the best month actually
lower village cemetary & floating boats in the brook
SUNNY MORNINGS
BLUE SKY
COFFEE (it tastes better with the two things above)
MAINE
well i could go on and on with this list but... i love spring and how it always feels like it went right to summer and then tricks you and goes back to the crisp days and how one day you wake up and the trees have leaves, it never ceases to awe me. (this day is not here yet but when it comes i hope i will remember to write it down)

SPRING IS HERE!!!!! HOW GLORIOUS.

WINTER WAS LONG! IF YOU RECALL, I COMPLAINED AND TOOK PICTURES OF THE SNOW, WRECKED POOL ECT... ( I CANT FIND THE PICS TO PUT UP AGAIN!) STILL DONT HAVE THIS BLOGGING THING FIGURED OUT YET. BUT ANYWAY ~ WINTER IS GONE

FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD?????

Something I have noticed. ALL I EVER WRITE ABOUT IS FOOD. THERE IS SOMETHING REALLY WRONG WITH THIS. I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RAYS POP TARTS

Flour
Sugar
Butter
Eggs
Cinnamon
yup thats all folks
(dont even try to read a pop tarts ingredients)

random bread stick in middle of ingredients????

Maybe some day I will figure out how to put my pictures where I want them instead of just letting them randomly go where ever they want!

EVERYONE KNOWS KELLOGG'S POP TARTS. BUT HAVE YOU EVER TRIED RAYS POP TARTS? noooo, not those cheap imitation Toaster Tarts that you can buy at any local grocery store, those are not good by the way, if your going to eat a POP TART, just go with Kellogg's. But the Rays pop tarts were pretty good, but the taste testers said next time MORE FILLING they never fail to be brutally honest with the baker

Friends

I have been visiting this week with friends. Yesterday was with my good friend Carla and her four kids, they are homeschooled so they are home when I was there. We had a great time. We chatted about everything, politics, sports, religion, clothing.. you name it. While we talked we made a great big salad with the kids. I had brought the ingredients for a Pioneer Woman's favorite salad. This salad is HUGE, so I wanted to make it with them and eat it for lunch and then bring leftovers home for supper. Its only good for one day, its gets slimy after that. The kids did such a great job, and her youngest Steven decided to play a game with it, he was at cooking school with his teacher "Mrs. Ray" it was such a blast and made me miss my kids and the days when they were young and played games like that. They loved the salad, and they now have a new recipe to make! Today Pat came over and we had sausage sandwich, with roasted cauliflour and had a great time chatting about stuff also. We will see what the rest of the week will hold for visiting.

Hot Cross Buns

when i visited gram last week before easter she wanted some hot cross buns, we stopped at tony's donuts in portland to get them but :( they were sold out. i had been thinking of making them for gram ever since and found out tammy was going down to see her on friday so i made these up for her ( and for us) and sent them on their way. they were very good. i did not use the typical candied fruit, just regular natural dried fruit. healthy and delicious
