SPRING in maine YUCK!

Im probably breaking
the cardinal rule of
blogging but this
is going to be the complaining blog. (ugly pictures included to make points) This is my pool. This is my pool in March 2008 after a long gross winter! It collapsed, the sides are crunched the liner is ripped and the bottom is mangled. Needless to say we will not be swimming anytime soon. Other things that this winter has brought to us, well how about 3.79 a gallon for oil. Oh did I mention that we go through at least 100 gallons every 15-20 days on top of burning through 8 cords of wood? Gas is 3.30 a gallon and I drive a suburban????? I put in 125.00 dollars worth of gas yesterday. Flour was 33.80 for 50 pounds almost twice the amount I had paid for it 2 months prior. The hot tub is broken, the yards is muddy, the kids are bored, the dog is lame ( mentally and physically ;) He can't run in the snow or his legs get sore! So you see, we need grass and sun and warm weather!! PLEASE PLEASE GET HERE SOON.

I tried to get a picture of the fact that it is SNOWING again here! It has been all day, its gray and ugly and cold and miserable. I have tried not to complain to much about the weather, but this winter has been long and hard and difficult.

HMMM....

I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PICTURES TO PUT UP FOR A WHILE NOW
LIFE HAS BEEN BUSY, MARK HAS BEEN WORKING ON FUNERAL ASSISTANCE FOR AN ENTIRE WEEK 1/2 NOW AND FEELS LIKE HE HAS BEEN HOME FOR A BOUT 3 HOURS TOTAL! THE BOYS ARE AT THE DENTIST THIS MORNING AND HE WAS ABLE TO TO TAKE THEM FOR ME, I WAS NOT SURE HOW I COULD DO IT, AS THEIR APPOINTMENT WAS AT 6:45 AND I DID NOT THINK WE COULD ALL GET READY AND OUT OF THE HOUSE AT THAT HOUR, NOT SURE HOW THE BOYS FELT ABOUT GOING TO THE DENTIST WITH THEIR DAD IN DRESS GREENS!
MORE TO COME THIS WEEK I HOPE, MAYBE I WILL PUT UP A PIC OF ME MINUS BRACES SOON.

20 years went by so fast

Levi turned 20! I LOVE THIS KID. I can't believe how nice he turned out. He is the funniest person I know ( well besides Jon) and he is a great person. We had a nice meal with his friends and then cheesecake for his cake. I'm proud of him and proud to be his mom.

SEARCH FOR THE WORLDS GREATEST JEANS

AN EPIC JOURNEY

jeans, jeans, jeans, jeans, jeans, jeans, jeans

i live in jeans, i'll die in jeans, i love jeans, i hate jeans.

these are the best of times, these are the worst of times.

jeans how do i love thee, let me count the ways.

my quest for the worlds best jeans has led me to do things i would not normally do, i have spent $$ that could feed starving children in africa to find a decent pair. is it too much to ask of the jean makers of the world to make a pair that fits me and then continue to make it for the rest of my existence! please please do not make me a pair and then quit after a year, that is like a knife to my back. why do you make jeans that would fit the worlds tallest man? is he buying womens jeans? i have four kids, i don't have time to go to "my" tailor! (which is what the jean ladies tell me to do) LIKE I HAVE A TAILOR. tammy helped me out yesterday with some tailoring so she is my new tailor unless the jean world decides to take my advice and make jeans to fit some one shorter then the worlds tallest man

i have a lot more to say about this quest ~ but i need to help scout pick out her jeans!

to be continued......

coffee with a friend
I love my new mug!
My best friend that is not a sister but should be
got me my new favorite mug.
I was admiring it at a cute little store in falmouth with
her the other day but it was too much $$ for me to
justify for myself. well somehow she managed to purchase
it for me with out my seeing
and when we got home she gave it to me as a thank you for lunch.
who knew that a mug could bring me such pleasure.
its not really the mug but a great friend who did something unexpected! Thanks friend!!
my coffee tastes better and my morning is brighter because of your thoughtfulness.

snow day

i have decided to start a little tradition for my kids ~ i will make them homemade doughnuts everytime it snows, ok wait, i mean i will make them homemade doughnuts everytime there is a SNOWDAY, you know no school, lay around, pj's ect.. This is our third snowday batch (hey I got a late start Who knew we would have 11 snowdays by march 5! if the weather continues they will have plenty more doughnuts. i hope my kids will look back on their lives and have good memories of me and this will hopefully just be a silly little thing they will remember and i hope they will smile, i know i will.

well its been too long since my last rant
todays rants will begin with
OWWWWW! I have been going to the gym for about 2 months now and its not something i enjoy
i was walking on the treadmill and doing some other fitness room activities but recently the "gym nazi" had approached me and asked me to come out and do some floor exercises with her ~ well she really is a nice person so i said yes and that was a big mistake :)
my body is aching and im still pleasantly plump !! ill keep going but as soon as this snow is gone im back to the great outdoors, walking and planning on getting a bike and doing some serious cycling around town, i have even been checking out bike shorts sooo you know i must be serious!
went to my favorite butcher shop to get some good meat ~ now this place is the real deal, smells like a cow red meat everywhere but the only problem is the farmers wive's, daughters who run the shop are not the friendliest chicks in town, but i have developed quite the thick skin when it comes to them and just try to take it with a grain of salt ~ some day i hope they will smile at me, i have been going there for at least two years now and have yet to see a one!!! (well i get them from the farmers/butchers but they don't come out much :( brought Tammy with me, I think she liked it. hope the mean ladies did not turn her off too much.
